Summer Grillin’

One of my favorite parts of summer is grilling… everything! Meat, poultry, seafood, veggies, potatoes - everything!

Here are some healthy AND tasty summer grilling tips:

Burgers: Instead of ground beef use ground bison or ground turkey. Both are mouth-watering delicious and have a lot less fat than regular ground beef.

Here’s my favorite burger recipe courtesy of my brother:

1-1.5 lb. ground bison or ground turkey

1 egg

½ -1 pack of French onion soup mix

2 tbsp. of A1 Sauce

Mix it up and make your patties.

Want to make a monster burger? I grill three pieces of 7 Sprouted Grain Bread to a toasty perfection and then make a double decker burger with two patties, lean turkey bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Yummy!

Want to save on some carbs? Ditch the bread and eat just the patty. Dip it in your favorite condiments.

Feeling frisky? Use a lettuce wrap to house your burger. It’s a crisp, clean, taste of no carb heaven.

Grilling Steak: Try some cuts that are lower in fat. My favorites are Filet Mignon, Eye of Round, Flat-Iron, Flank, and Top Round.

For  steak seasonings try  McCormick Steak Seasoning, Montreal Steak Rub, OR McCormick Garlic Sea Salt Grinder + McCormick Garlic Pepper Seasoning Grinder + Pepper + Onion Powder.

Veggies or potatoes: you can use a foil packet or a Grilling BBQ Skillet.

The possibilities are endless. I just ate grilled steak chopped up and mixed with grilled potatoes, pulled chicken and a side salad. Happy Grilling!
